Everton target Liverpool striker
The last time a player made a direct transfer between Everton an Liverpool it was 1992.
Back then, defender Gary Ablett moved across Stanley Park from Liverpool to Everton for £750,000.
Prior to that, the likes of Peter Beardlsey also completed a move between the Merseyside clubs.
However it’s been 24 years since the two Liverpool clubs did direct business with each other, yet the Mirror on Thursday believe Everton could be trying to sign Liverpool striker Christian Benteke this summer.
Benteke the Bluenose?
The Mirror, via the Liverpool Echo, are reporting the following:
Everton have lined up an audacious move to take Liverpool’s Christian Benteke.
The report says that the Blues have Benteke lined up if Chelsea meet their £75million valuation for fellow Belgium international striker Romelu Lukaku.
The Mirror also say that Sunderland are looking to sign the 25-year-old Belgium international centre-forward.
