Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is keen to add the youngster Franck Kessie to his ranks, according to The Sun.
Per-the-source, the Ivory Coast international is being monitored by Wenger following a run of impressive performances for Atalanta this season.
The young central midfielder has already been compared to Manchester City’s Yaya Toure due to his runs from deep and due to his strong physical presence in midfield.
The report goes onto state that Arsenal have sent scouts to track the youngsters progress in recent weeks.
“They [Arsenal] were here in Italy to watch him,” Kessie’s agent was quoted as saying by the Sun.
“Arsenal are a good team but there are a lot of teams interested in him so they’re not the only possible destination.”
Kessie has provided one assist and scored five goals in seven appearances in all competitions for Atalanta this season.
Arsenal have been in impressive form of late having recorded four victories in a row and remaining unbeaten in their last eight games. The Gunners take on Burnley FC next weekend in the Premier League.
