United have agreed a £12.9million fee with Torino for Darmian after weeks of negotiations, and the player has accepted a four-year deal.
Some of the main paperwork is yet to be exchanged, but reports in Italy say Darmian is head to Manchester for a medical and to seal his transfer.
United hope to announce the move shortly so Darmian can join the Red Devils squad for their pre-season tour.
