According to The Mirror, Barcelona are set to open contract talks with Brazilian captain Neymar as they look to reward him for his success at the Camp Nou.
The 23-year-old joined the Catalan club from Santos in the summer of 2013, and he was one of the key men behind last season's treble-winning campaign as he combined beautifully with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez to rip defences apart.
Reports in the summer suggested that Manchester United had made an enquiry about possibly signing the Brazilian, but both Barcelona and Neymar has denied any contact with the Old Trafford side as they insisted that an exit was not a possibility.
However, a clause in Neymar's deal forces Barcelona to re-negotiate his contract in the third year and his representatives are believed to be looking for an after-tax salary of £200,000-a-week.
Neymar scored 39 goals in all competitions last season for Barcelona but he is yet to get off the mark in the La Liga this season so far and will have the opportunity to do open his goals account when he travels with the rest of his teammates to face Atletico Madrid at the Calderon on Saturday.
