The author, Brit Peter Barron, was left needing a striker for his monstrous line-up and, as if by chance, Luis Suarez struck again during the World Cup.
'When I was writing the book Luis Suarez had been in trouble again for biting another opponent,' Barron said.
'So when I needed a striker to complete my monstrous line-up he seemed to fit the bill.'
Luis Suarez first hit the headlines due to his desire to bite men on a football pitch in 2010 while playing for Ajax. The Uruguayan took a chunk out of PSV's Otman Bakkal during a 0-0 draw, an incident that led to a seven match suspension and left him being labelled the 'Cannibal of Ajax'.
A ban for a nibble Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic while playing for Liverpool in 2013 caused yet more outrage, but it was during the 2014 World Cup the Cannibal of Ajax really became the world wide beast.
Suarez was waiting for a cross while playing against Italy and decided to have a nibble of Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini, this time leading to a nine game suspension from Fifa. He was also banned from taking part in any football-related activity – including entering any stadium – for four months and later shipped off to Barcelona.
Clearly worried about Suarez's checkered past, author Peter Barron was quick to make light of the situation:
'I just hope he sees the funny side of it and the idea doesn't come back to bite me,' he said.
