Torino defender Matteo Darmian met with Real
Madrid officials before last week's Champions League
clash with Juventus.
After having dinner with his girlfriend, the Italy
international headed to the Golden Palace Hotel, the
Spanish side's base for the semi-final, first-leg clash
in Turin, to meet with Davide Ancelotti, the son of
Blancos boss Carlo.
Darmian and Davide are old friends from the full-
back's eight-year stint at AC Milan, which coincided
with Carlo's time in charge at San Siro.
Madrid officials took advantage of the pair's informal
meeting to speak with Darmian, who has previously
been linked with a move to Barcelona.
Indeed, the Blaugrana had been lining the 25-year-
old up as a possible replacement for Dani Alves, who
is now ready to sign a new two-year contract with the
Catalan club after initially looking set to leave on a
free transfer this summer.
However, it now seems that Madrid are considering
making a bid for Darmian, even though the European
champions have already moved to strengthen the
right-side of their defence for next season with the
signing of Porto full-back Danilo.
Darmian, who joined Torino from Palermo in 2011,
has been capped 11 times by Italy and represented
his country at last summer's World Cup in Brazil.
